John Terenzini John comes from a long background in the outdoor industry, teaching environmental education and guiding around the world. He switched careers towards researching important marine species like jellyfish by starting the Hong Kong Jellyfish Project, a citizen science initiative examining the presence, distribution, and seasonality of jellyfish in Hong Kong. He brings his citizen science and jellyfish experience to the UK to discover more about freshwater jellyfish, such as Craspedacusta sowerbii, and lay the foundation for future research into this non-native species.

Dr Florian Lüskow Dr. Florian Lüskow is a dedicated marine biologist and biological oceanographer with an extensive background in the ecology of gelatinous zooplankton. He has considerably contributed to the scientific community’s understanding of the freshwater jellyfish Craspedacusta sowerbii, particularly through his highly collaborative work on the species’ global distribution and environmental drivers. Florian brings rigorous academic expertise to the UK team, focussing on mapping the spread of this non-native species and advancing our knowledge of its impact on freshwater ecosystems and societies.
